THE FUTURE OF TRADITIONALLY
MOUTH-BLOWN WINE GLASSES
GRASSL GLASS
Forbes Business Magazine quotes Grassl Glass as
“Tall and handsome with fine lines and curves like a Lamborghini”
“Justified among individuals who literally spend their day tasting liquids”
“Indulge every nitpicky aspect of wine drinking”
Swiss Design, Mouth Blown, Light & Durable!
Designed for functionality first; each glass optimized for different types of wine. Other producers in the mouth-blown glass segment focus on aesthetics first. Grassl Glass is the first producer to have functionality in mind, alongside thin bowls and the featherweight elegance for the true wine connoisseur.
MATERIALS
An oxy-fuel fired furnace melts glassmaking sand, soda, dolomite, potassium, potassium oxide and recycled glass. The result is a 1700°C hot, lead-free molten mass resembling the composition of pure rock crystal.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Twenty years of glassmaking experience are required to consistently craft the Grassl Glass Collection. Five artisans are needed to produce a single stemmed glass during the hot-shaping phase. Followed by a slow-cooling process with an additional five steps for finalisation.
VALUES
All Grassl Glass designs are based on core principles of functionality and usability. Whilst the Vigneron Series is built on the feedback of the most renown winemakers today, the Elemental Series focuses on the absolute essentials of wine drinking.
WORLD FAMOUS WINE PRODUCERS USE GRASSL GLASS
The designs including Liberté, which is ideal for medium to low acidity white wines, which are oak aged and 1855, a glass for reds high in tannin, richness and alcohol. If push comes to shove, Mach says “if you wanted just one glass that does the job, it would be the Liberté as an objective tool for tasting.”
Rebecca Gibb (Master of Wine)
In Burgundy, Jean Marc Roulot becomes the first winemaker to order personalised Grassl Glass “Liberté” for his tasting room, citing how Grassl Glass is precise on the nose that uniquely stands out from other glass! Domaine Roulot (Burgundy)
